Cryosurgery



When deemed appropriate, we at Zionsville Country Veterinary Clinic have the option of cryosurgery. Cryosurgery is a surgical technique which utilizes liquid nitrogen to freeze unwanted tissue. There is very little discomfort to the pet during the healing process.

Cryosurgery is performed with a special cryosurgery unit. Cryosurgery is generally used on small growths, ie., wart-like skin tumors, but is most beneficial for dealing with ectopic or extra eyelashes that can cause damage to the eye. Cryosurgery is a valuable tool, and gives an additional treatment option for your pets.
